Introduction

Serving the Lord is one of the greatest tasks for God’s children, and every Christian should desire to serve the Lord with their whole heart.

To serve the Lord is to reverence, worship, and honor him for who He is, and what He has done, and it is a call for a humble walk with God.

Exodus 23:25  And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.

Every parent wants their children to continue their legacy, and to propagate the truth, but for some people, their children will never serve God.

The joy of every Christian mother and father is for their children to serve God with their lives, but I will tell you the truth today because it is important to know this truth and be established in them.

Reasons why your children will never serve the Lord.

Serving the Lord is one of the greatest tasks for God’s children, and every Christian should desire to serve the Lord with their whole heart.

You do not serve God.

This one is obvious, right?
Yes, it is.
If you do not serve the Lord, you should not expect your children to serve God. At some point, God helps some children to find the truth later on in life, not because of their parents, but someone else who cares so much about their eternal destination.

Keep Faith for the Future Generation: 3 Powerful Things

My life is a vivid example, I do not have a Godly father who loves God, and serve God, but later on in life, I came across people who cared so much about me, and help me to know the truth.

Therefore, it is important to know this truth, if you do not serve the Lord right now, your children are watching you, and they will not serve the Lord. Are you happy about that result?

You are serving the Lord in a Hypocritical manner.

Deuteronomy 10:12  And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,

It is not enough for you to serve the Lord, you need to watch the attitude that you have in serving.
Are you serving the Lord sincerely or you are being forced to do it?

Your pastor may not know how you are doing it, and your friends may not know how you are doing it, but may I tell you that your children are watching your approach toward the things of God?

4 Great Lessons from Following Christ for Believers

If you are the type who always complains about serving in the home, one day, your children will reject what you are telling them to do. And that is why I believe that your heart must be connected to what you are doing for the Lord.

Being hypocritical is being double-faced about your service to the Lord, you are one at the house, and another at the church.
And then your children are watching you, and you need to understand that you will children will repeat what they see.

You are Not Excited about your Service to the Lord.

I understand that serving the Lord sometimes comes with pain, but you need to have a good attitude about it.

Joshua 24:14  Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD.
Joshua 24:15  And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

One of the things about serving the Lord is the joy in it. How do you respond when it is time to do the service to the Lord?
Going to church, are you excited?
Soul winning? Are you excited?
Prayers? Are you excited about it?

I cannot declare the great things that the Lord can do if I am not excited about it. It is impossible.

Many parents have not shared the testimony of God’s goodness with their children. Your children need to see that you are into what you are doing.

It is not enough to tell them to do it when you are not doing it. And then when you do it, they want to see that you mean it, and you mean it, they want to see that you are excited about it.

Conclusion

Will your children serve the Lord?

Joshua 24:22  And Joshua said unto the people, Ye are witnesses against yourselves that ye have chosen you the LORD, to serve him. And they said, We are witnesses.
Joshua 24:24  And the people said unto Joshua, The LORD our God will we serve, and his voice will we obey.
