My Cents To The Christian Teenagers

In this article, I want to advise Christian teenagers on how they can live successfully in this corrupt society, and I believe that it is possible to live for God in this wicked world.

1 Timothy 4:12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

Teenagers generally are faced with peer pressure, especially from the world. The things of this world are generally the things that are moving the teens away from the things of this world.

Worldly music, attire, pressure from friends contributed to the wayward lifestyles that many young people are living today. God expects more from the Christian teenagers than any others, but some have given in to the pressure, and the ugliness of this world.

And sometimes, I wonder if we can see Christian teens today who are living for God, and who are on fire for the Lord.

Can we young men and women who loved God today?
Yes, it is possible to see them, but it is rare, and I know quite a few of them. Therefore, if you are a Christian teenager, or you are parenting teenagers, my cents of advice will help you or your children to their lives more for God.

First, You need to know to OBEY GOD NO MATTER WHAT.

Benjamin Franklin said the first thing you need to teach a child is to obey. And I will add this to it, the first thing you need to learn in life is to obey The Lord. God requires obedience for you, but not from you. When you obey the Lord, it is for your own benefit.

Let’s look at the life of Saul, he was commanded to kill all the enemies of God, and Saul disobey God.

Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.

Wherefore then didst thou not obey the voice of the Lord, but didst fly upon the spoil, and didst evil in the sight of the Lord?

And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the Lord, and have gone the way which the Lord sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites.

But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice unto the Lord thy God in Gilgal.

And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.

Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king. And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice. (1 Samuel 15:3, 19-24 KJV)

The purpose of obeying God is for your own good. It will ruin your life if you are living a disobedient life to God. Don’t you ever think that you are hurting God or your parents, but you are really doing yourself great damage?

God rejected Saul as king, “Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king.” Sometimes, you find yourself in a situation where you think about whether to obey God or not, you just have to obey him, because obedience always brings blessings from the Lord.

Second, LIVE A SEPARATED LIFE

God desires that you live separate lives. He wants you to be different from the World. He calls you out the World to be a peculiar person unto Him alone. God is jealous when you are sharing him with someone. He wants you to be His alone. He does not want you to mingle with the things of this world, why? Because they will bend your attention from following the Lord.

When Samson failed to live a separate life, he met Delilah, who is looking for someone to prey on, and she did find Samson, and she fulfilled her goal. If you stay within God’s boundary, you are secured. There is no guarantee for you if you disobeyed God by not living a separate life.

And Delilah said to Samson, Tell me, I pray thee, wherein thy great strength lieth, and wherewith thou mightest be bound to afflict thee. And Samson said unto her, If they bind me with seven green withs that were never dried, then shall I be weak, and be as another man.

And he said unto her, If they bind me fast with new ropes that never were occupied, then shall I be weak, and be as another man.

That he told her all his heart, and said unto her, There hath not come a razor upon mine head; for I have been a Nazarite unto God from my mother’s womb: if I be shaven, then my strength will go from me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man. (Judges 16:6-7, 11, 17 KJV)

My cents for Christian teenagers are:

Obey the Lord at any cost.

Live a separate Life.
