The Recipes to Joyful Living in Christian Life

Joyful living in Christian life is an option, you can choose to live joyfully or not.

But when you choose to live joyfully, there are blessings that come with it.

The Bible encourages and commands us to rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say rejoice, it was repeated for emphasis’ sake to show us the important role that living joyfully plays in our productivity as believers.

Greater Joy in the Heart of a Faithful Servant

When you are joyful, it shows that you are not living according to the admonition of the Word of God.
Here are the Bible references that talk about being full of Joy.

Therefore, it is God’s desire that we are full of joy and not sadness.  When a believer is full of joy, he tends to live more for God, and not for the flesh.

What Can Help Our Joy to Full As Believers

The Joyful Living in Christian Life Can Be Summarized in these four points

1. John 15:11

John 15:11These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

The Word of God helps our joy.

The significant role that the word of God plays in our lives can never be underrated. We can’t have joy without the word of God.

This is one of the reasons why Satan is trying his best to keep people away from reading, studying, and knowing the only Book that can transform our lives.

2. John 16:24

When we get an answer to a prayer request, it sparks joy in our hearts. We are full of joy.

16:24Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

This is evidence that we should not give up on prayers, because God is going to answer our prayers, and that will in return help us to fill with joy.

The joy of the Lord comes when our prayer request got an answer from Heaven, it brings joy to us.

3. 1 John 1:4

The truth about Christ helps our joy to be full.

1:4And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.

Knowing that Christ is our Savior, paid the price for sin, gave us his life, and forgiven us of our sins brings the fullness of joy, and it helps us to keep on rejoicing.

One of the things that kept me going is the reality that, I am not serving the dead Savior, but a risen Savior.

4. 2 John 1:12

Fellowship with like-minded Christians helps our joy to be full

1:12Having many things to write unto you, I would not write with paper and ink: but I trust to come unto you, and speak face to face, that our joy may be full.

What a joy for brothers to fellowship!

It refreshes the heart and brings comfort to the soul. There are times when life becomes boring because we lack fellowship with other like-minded Christians.

And this is one of the reasons why we go to church, to be a blessing to others, and in turn, we get to be full of joy because of our fellowship with Christians who are on fire for the Lord.

The Recipes to Joyful Living in Christian Life

1. Be Saved

Salvation brings joy to a life. I can’t get over my salvation.  Knowing your sins are forgiven, you are on your way to Heaven, you have eternal life.

What a joy! Many people who have never accepted Christ as their Savior will not understand the degree of joy that comes to a soul who has received the free gift of eternal life.

You are no more going to Hell again. Christ saved and kept you saved You will be miserable if you have never trusted Christ as your Savior.

2. Forgive Immediately

This is a daily dose that you need to help your joy to abound.

The truth is, people will offend you, therefore, you must forgive those that offend you instantly if you want to keep the joy in your life.

Some believers are interrupting joy in their life because they are not forgiving those that offended them.  Bitterness comes as a result of not forgiving others that offended you.

There are times when you feel like not forgiving, but when that time comes, you need to understand that you need to have a clean heart that helps the joy keeps following.

Jesus said, Unless you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will not forgive you your own trespasses. Do not wait until the person comes to see you before letting go.

3. Worry Less

One of the reasons many people do not have the fullness of joy is the worry that they have allowed in their lives. The last time I checked, worry never solves any problems, but it adds to your problem.

Worry will compound your problems, and add double pain to your life. It is not possible to carry worry with you, and you will joyful.

Christ commanded us not to worry, not only because it is wrong, but because it is a sin. It takes your eye from God to your problems.

One of the secrets that I have discovered about joyful living is just two words, “Don’t worry”.

Things will not go the way you wanted them to be, but when you are worried about everything, it will create a problem not only for your spiritual wellbeing but also for your physical life.

4. Live Simply

One of the things that are killing our joy is that we want to live beyond our means.

Let me say this, it is good to have the nicest things, but what you need are food and shelter, and you must be content with those things.

It is never a piece of good advice to go beyond what you are capable of. Many people borrow because they want to appear big.

You cannot satisfy the physical demands of this life, therefore it is wise to live simply, and be content with them.

And Christ said, “Give us this day our daily bread”.

5. Give More

Acts 20:35

One of the hardest secrets to living joyfully is to give more.

We live in a world where people are more demanding from others than they want to give.

And many people are waiting to have plenty until they can give to others, but that is not what life is all about.

Do you know that from the little that you have now, you can be a blessing to others from it?

The person giving is happier than the people receiving, and that is the secret you must understand.

6. Expect less from Others

Sometimes we expect more from others, and when those needs are not met, then we are filled with bitterness toward others.

The greatest joy in a person’s life is to expect nothing from others.

You need to always trust God for your help, and not man, because the only thing man can give you is a disappointment.
