The Ignorant of the Bible and its Results in the Lives of Believers

The Bible is an informational Book, which leads man to live a transformed life. But there are millions of people who are ignorant of the Bible, and what it says.

Proverbs 19:2Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.

In this context, it means that we need to get knowledge about a situation before jumping into a decision, and I want to use the same understanding of the passage to help hate the ignorant and choose the knowledge of the Bible.

My usage of the “Ignorance” is in the context of ignoring, but those who truly do not know nor understand what the Bible says.

It is against the Bible that we do not have knowledge. Believers are encouraged to learn, read books, and seek wisdom.

But there are so many people who reject the simple admonition to seek wisdom. And such people will not be able to read their potential for the Lord.

I want to encourage you in this article not to be ignorant of the Scripture because it is very costly to be ignorant.

The Ignorant of the Bible, and Its Results.

It causes fear.

The Bible is given to calm our fears with all the promises of God given to us. All those promises are there to encourage us to have unwavering faith in the Lord.

But if you are ignorant of the Bible, you will not be able to know what passages of the Bible will be needed when you are in need of encouragement, hope, and faith.

People that do not know the Bible are living in panic, and worry over the future. But if you are a student of the Bible, you will realize that Bible gave us much assurance in the state of fear.

Let me share with you some verses in the Bible so that you will get to familiarize yourself with the truth of the Bible.

Psalm 56:3-4  What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.
In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.

Fear is a natural feeling that we experience, but when we have trust and faith in the Word of God, it calms us and gives us hope that God is in control in the state of fear.

In the New Testament, we see Apostle Paul writing to Timothy, his son in the faith, he wrote to encourage his young protege concerning his work in the ministry.

2Timothy 1:7  For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Believers need to arm themselves with the Word of God so that we war courageously in spiritual warfare.

We all need the sword of the Spirit that will quench the fiery darts of the enemies whenever he launches his attacks on us.

It Causes Insecurity

When you are anchor is not held on to the Word of God, you will be insecure. You will see beyond your see beyond state of insecurity.

What is insecurity?
According to Websters Dictionary, it defines insecurity as follows:

INSECU’RITYnoun [in and security.] Want of safety, or want of confidence in safety. Seamen in a tempest must be conscious of their insecurity

1. Uncertainty. With what insecurity of truth we ascribe effects or unseen causes.

2. Want of safety; danger; hazard; exposure to destruction or loss; applied to things; as the insecurity of a building exposed to fire; the insecurity of a debt.

I believe that the word is so powerful that it will make me feel secure in God. There are times when I do not know what to do, but when he plunged into the Bible, it brings hope to the uncertain situation that I am experiencing in my life.

The passage of the Scripture that comes to my mind is Psalm 23

When the Lord is your shepherd, it makes you secure. But then, when you are buried in your problem, and the word of God is not in you, you will succumb to your problems.

Just like this popular hymn, the haven of rest, it gives you security in a state of insecurity. The people who are most insecure are those who are not rooted in the Word of God.

It Leads to Falsehood

If you do not believe the truth, you will believe a lie. One of the most powerful weapons against lies is to know the truth.

If you are do not know the Bible, and you are ignorant of the Bible, you will be filled with errors, and you will not be able to stand.

Jer 29:31Send to all them of the captivity, saying, Thus saith the LORD concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite; Because that Shemaiah hath prophesied unto you, and I sent him not, and he caused you to trust in a lie:
2 Th 2:11And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

That is why I always encourage new Believers to study the Bible, and there are many resources that will help you to grow in learning the Bible precept upon precept, here a little and there a little.

Conclusion

If you are a Christian, you should desire to know the Bible and the Word of God, and you should be filled with the truth of His Word. So that you will not fall into the snares of the devils.

If you are not saved, the first state is to know how to be saved from the condemnation of sin, the Bible is very plain on how to get to Heaven.
