There are so many things that we can read and see in the Bible, and one of them is tattoos, the Bible speaks on tattoos very clearly.
With good faith and heart, I want to share with you today about the Biblical stance on tattoos.
There are many churches that see tattoos as a taboo, mark of the beast, and it is called many names in the religious world.
People have different reasons for having tattoos, some print it to mark a favorite place, memorable person in their lives, special event that happened in their lives, and so on.
But here is my stance, Bible speaks about tattoos, I will explain my thought to you on the subject using the word of God.
Does the Bible speak about tattoos?
I believe that Bible speaks about tattoos, but what does it say about them?
It is the mark of the beast? Does it hinder people from Heaven?
If you have it, can you make Heaven?
Can We Go to Heaven with Tattoos?
My Conversion with a Tattoos Guy
I remember one time I was out soul winning, I met a young man with tattoos all over his body, and I went to talk to him about salvation.
Throughout the conversation, I never one time talk about the tattoos on him, and after the discussion, he trusted Christ, but he couldn’t hide his feeling, and he asked me, so what do you think about my printing on my body?
Don’t you see the tattoos are all over my body, and you still decided to talk to me? He continues, “many pastors have told me that I am doomed, and I cannot go to Heaven because of the tattoos on my body.
I explained to myself what my stance is on the issue of tattoos, and how the Bible speaks about tattoos. I believe that tattoos are sinful things to print on your body.
Let me say this having tattoos on your body is not the mark of the beast because the mark of the beast goes on the forehead or in the hands.
And also the mark of the beast is not until the time of the tribulation
Revelations 13:16-17 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
Revelations 14:9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
The first place where God speaks about printing on our body which is in reference to tattoo is in the Book of Leviticus
Leviticus 19:28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD.
This is definitely a command from the Lord, and for children of God, we are to obey the command by not having any marks upon us no matter what. Having marks on you is like trying to redesign how fearfully and wonderfully God has made you.
God did the design of our body, and he made us perfectly, and our body should be used to bring glory to God, and not the Devil.
And also one of the disadvantages of having tattoos on you apart from the Biblical command to abstain is the disease it causes on those who have it.
Therefore, we the children of God should obey our Heavenly father.
We are to obey God by saying that I will not print any marks on me.
And I believe that a single verse that explicitly talks about tattoos should be enough for us, we should not be looking for excuses to justify our sin whether Bible speaks about tattoos or not.
Now, if you have had tattoos before you trusted Christ, what should you do? Leave it, and let it be a testimony of a changed life in Christ Jesus.
But most importantly, if you are not saved, there is an opportunity for you to be saved.
