Introduction

The work of the Holy Spirit can never be underrated in the world that we love today. The Holy Spirit convicts believers to do right and open the eyes of the unbelievers to see their need for the Savior Jesus Christ.

Therefore it is important to answer this question concerning the work of the Holy Spirit. Does the Holy Spirit Convict Believers of their Sins?

the attitudes in our prayer life
These attitudes in our prayer life will help our talking to God be more effective, and also we will help us to pray more.

We will let the Bible answer this question for us so that we can have our faith established and our doctrine firmed. In this Old Testament, we see that Holy Spirit fills men to do great work.

Whenever great work is about to be done, the Spirit will empower, and enable these men to be able to do the impossible. Let’s see some great examples in the Bible of such occurrences:

BIBLE REFERENCES ON THE HOLY SPIRIT

Exodus 28:3  And thou shalt speak unto all that are wise hearted, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they may make Aaron’s garments to consecrate him, that he may minister unto me in the priest’s office.

Exodus 31:3  And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship,

Exodus 35:31  And he hath filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship;

Acts 2:4  And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Ephesians 5:18  And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

So we see both the filling of the Spirit in the Old Testament and the New Testament, and now we will check other Bible verses to show where the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin according to the Gospel of John.

John 16:8  And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

He will reprove the world of sin:

He will reprove the world of righteousness

He will reprove the world of judgment

And Christ explains further what He meant by the statement, and let’s look at them:

John 16:9  Of sin, because they believe not on me;
John 16:10  Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
John 16:11  Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

Holy Spirit will use the word of God that believers hear to convict them of things in their lives that are not right and help them to do right.
