Introduction

In this article, I will be sharing with you some verses that teach that salvation is not by works, even though so many in the world today believe in works as a gateway to heaven. Don’t be deceived, let the Bible speak.

John 5:39-40  Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.

Christ challenged the Jews to search the Scripture, and in them, they think that they have eternal life, and the law speaks about Jesus, and he wants them to understand that if they truly search their book, then they will see him written all over every page of the laws and the prophets. In this Bible, Christ proved to us that salvation is not by works.

Therefore, for believers today, we must also search the Scripture to be sure of what we believe and why we believe what we believe. If you are looking for Scriptures that teach works as a means of salvation, you will not find one.

Works are good things to do, but they are not good enough to get anyone to heaven, and if you are trusting in your works to get you to heaven, you will never get there.

Salvation is not by works, and cannot be by works.

Therefore, with this in mind, I would love to share with you some Bible verses that speak about salvation is not by works, and how you cannot get saved by the works you do. I use these verses when I go out soul winning.

Assurance of Salvation Scriptures and Verses Explain

Acts 13:39  And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

Romans 3:27-28 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

Romans 11:6  And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

Galatians 2:16  Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

Galatians 3:11  But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

Philippians 3:9  And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

Ephesians 2:8-9  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Romans 4:5  But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

2Timothy 1:9  Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

Titus 3:5  Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

These are just a few from Paul’s epistles, and if we go to the book of John, we will find out that the plan of God for man to be saved is not through the things that you do. But through faith in Christ alone.

So many people believe that salvation comes through religion, but then if salvation comes through religion, there is no reason for the coming of Christ. Religion is what we do after we are saved, but not for our salvation.
