Salvation by Grace through Faith: 4 Things You need to Know

Christian Faith By Feb 23, 2023 No Comments

Salvation by grace through faith is often misunderstood by people who do not understand the Bible. Therefore, we need to have a clear understanding of this important and great truth.

The Misunderstanding of the Subject.

I want to clear the wrong notion of salvation by grace through faith. There are many people who have not studied the subject, therefore, spreading fake teaching concerning this subject.

  • Lie 1: It is not found in the Bible
  • Lie 2: It is Paul’s message
  • Lie 3: It encourages sinful lifestyles.
  • It is not encouraged theme in the Bible

Clearing the Misunderstood

You need to understand that theme of the Bible, ” Salvation by grace through faith”, therefore, it is impossible for a man to be saved from the penalty of sin without this understanding.

Let’s Dive into the Bible on Salvation by grace through faith

In the Old Testament, people were saved by grace alone through faith, and that is not why it is perverseness of the Gospel to think that people were by works.

Some who teach Salvation by faith alone still find it acceptable to teach that in the Old Testament times, people were saved by a mixture of faith and works. This is absolute heresy and leads the door open to Lordship Salvation.

Old Testament, Same Problem

This teaching runs into all of the same problems that a New Testament works Salvation runs into. Namely, how many works were required? If you could be good enough to get to Heaven without Jesus, why did He even come to earth?

If works are involved in any manner with your Salvation, there is no more grace, and you must be saved entirely by works. There can be no mixing of the two concepts. You either do it all, or God does it all:

Romans 11:6

6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

If indeed they got to Heaven by works in the Old Testament, they would certainly be able to boast, because the fact is that they are in Heaven as a result of their own diligent efforts.

This obviously violates the fact that no one, from any point in history, will be able to boast of themselves about Salvation:

Ephesians 2:8-9

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

The reason why our works cannot have anything to do with Salvation is because works can never pay for or cancel out sins.

Queen Esther Bible Story: What You Need to Know

The only way to get to Heaven is to be sinless. And the only thing that has ever been accepted or will ever be accepted as payment for sin is blood atonement (Leviticus 17:11Hebrews 9:22), and that blood is Jesus Christ’s (Hebrews 9:12Revelation 1:5Colossians 1:141 John 1:7).

Jesus Christ, “the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world” (Revelation 13:8), is outside of time.

Salvation by grace alone through faith

Therefore, His atonement, regardless of where it took place chronologically, applies to every last human being to ever exist.

Great Verses in the New Testament

Moreover, in the New Testament, we can see that there many verses that explain that salvation is by grace through faith. But then some people will still want to argue against the truth.

Romans 4:16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,

Ephesians 2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

Christ Explains to the Law Abiding Pharisees

Our Savior explains to law abiding Pharisees the only way to be saved, and these verses will give you more understanding.

John 8:21 Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come.

John 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

Why would Christ told them that they will die in their sins if they do not believe? They are not enough to save them from the Hell.

Therefore, no man has or will ever come to the Father by any other means than the Messiah Jesus Christ (John 14:6). If any man failed to put their trust in God’s promised Messiah, at any point in time, they died in their sins (John 8:24).
