The Faithful God

Christian Faith By Dec 27, 2021 No Comments

One of the attributes is that he is the faithful God. What does that mean? It means God is always consistent in everything that he does.

Do Not Blame God

Deuteronomy 7:6-11

1 Corinthians 1:9 God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

The children of Israel were reminded of the love that God has for them. And the Lord has given them basic instruction to adhere to when they get to the land of Canaan.

These were instructions that they were to follow as the chosen people of the Lord.

My text verse: Deu 7:9  Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;

He is a faithful God. God is so faithful.
Faithful- True, Firm, and Constant.

Jeremiah 42:5 Then they said to Jeremiah, The LORD be a true and faithful witness between us, if we do not even according to all things for the which the LORD thy God shall send thee to us.

What does he mean by being the faithful God?

1. He is true to His Nature.

“He is God”
There are so many attributes of God in the Bible. God is love, caring, but His faithfulness makes it possible to love, and caring God in spite of your shortcomings.
He does not give up on His children
He does not change in his nature, and there is no inconsistency with God.

2. He is true to His Words.

Psa138:2  I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

He is faithful to His words because His words are faithful. If God is not faithful to His, He will not be God.
Ill- In the garden
Ill- in the person of Christ- Destroy this body, and I will raise it up in three days.

Ps 119:86 All thy commandments are faithful: they persecute me wrongfully; help thou me.

His promises are so true that Joshua declared this to the children of Israel. You do not need to panic, be afraid, and be discouraged when it comes to the promises of the Lord. It may be longer than expected, but the Lord is always faithful to his Word.

1 Th 5:24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

Jos 21:45  There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass.

Heb 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

Rev 21:5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

3. He is true to His Judgment

Rev 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

God will judge people according to his faithful. He is no respecter of persons.
The judgment of the Lord is true, and verity, and there is no hypocrisy in his judgment, and he does not show any favor to anyone at all.
He is faithful in dealing with the sins of unbelievers
He is faithful in dealing with the sins of believers
1 John 1:9, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

4. He is true in Trials

1 Cor 10:13, There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

We all go through trials, and sometimes we ask God questions or we do question the existence of God in our trying moments.
Sometimes, we charge him foolishly concerning what we are going through.

Nothing is new to God, and nothing takes God by surprise, and neither is there any accidental with the Lord. Even in your trials, God is always faithful. That is who He is.

Conclusion

We see all these things about God, and How faithful God is, are you faithful to God?
We all want God to be faithful, and He will always be, but are you faithful to the Lord?

1 Cor 4:17 For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church.
