How Our thinking Affects Our Spiritual Life.

What is Thinking Biblically?

It is when thinking is influenced and controlled by the Word of God, and to think biblically is to think correctly, and it is a life controlled by the Holy Scripture.

Philippians Chapter 4

The word thought is mentioned 57 times in the King James Bible

The battle is for your mind, if Satan can get hold of your mind, you will become a target, and he will manipulate, frustrate, and torment your life. Satan wants to get the advantage of you and control your thoughts which in turn mess up your actions.

And that is why any thought that does not unite nor synchronized with God’s Holy word should never be entertained and nursed in our lives.

Many Christians do not have healthy thinking, and it has affected them spiritually, and also affected their relationship with others, and most importantly with God.

If you are not thinking biblically, there is nothing that you cannot do because you do not have a thought life that is governed by the Word of God.

The Book of Philippians provided us with the way we need to guide our minds so that we can be able to act right in the midst of a confusing world.

How Thinking Biblically Affects As Believers

1. Thinking Biblically Affects our Relationship with Others.

Philippians 4:2  I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord.

If a man is not thinking right or he is carnal in his mind, he will not be able to get along with other brothers or sisters in the Lord. It is sad to see many friendships that are being damaged because we are not being guided by the Lord.

In our relationship with others, we are only admonished to be of the same mind IN THE LORD.
There is nothing that could not achieve together if we are thinking according to the word of God.

If you are only negative in your thoughts about others in the church, you will have a sour and ill relationship with such person.
And that is why these men were encouraged to be of the same mind in the Lord. We should therefore not meddle with any person that is wrong biblically in order to unite with such person.

Job 21:27  Behold, I know your thoughts, and the devices which ye wrongfully imagine against me.

Job was able to discover the thoughts of his friends through their words spoken to him, and the Bible talks about the abundance of the heart is the words that come out.

Be careful of your thoughts, feed your mind with the right things that will help you to take care of your thoughts.

Conquering Destructive Desires

2. Thinking Biblically will affect our View of God

Psalm 94:19  In the multitude of my thoughts within me thy comforts delight my soul.

What do you think about God? What is your view about God?

1 Chronicle 29:18  O LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this for ever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of thy people, and prepare their heart unto thee:

Psalm 10:4  The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.

When our thoughts are filled with faulty knowledge about who God is, it is going to affect how we relate to him.

Who is God to you really begins in what you are thinking about him? When you are thinking right about God, it will help you to appreciate who is and what he has done.

Psalm 143:5  I remember the days of old; I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands.

And that is why Devils understand that if I can corrupt our minds with wrong things, then he has successfully won the victory over you.

It concerns us to keep a strict watch over our thoughts because God takes particular notice of them. Thoughts are words to God- Matthew Henry.

Php 4:6  Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Php 4:7  And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

3. Thinking Biblically will affect our Personal Growth.

Philippians 4:8  Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Growth is an important part of life, and if growth is not happening in our lives, it will affect us greatly.
Just as you are what you eat, you will become what you are feeding your mind with. I do not know anyone that feeds his mind with negativity that will give out negativity.

And all these things mentioned in this verse will help us to grow in our personal walk with God.
When your mind is positioned to have a correct view of God, then you will begin to grow in your spiritual walk with God.

But when our minds are filled with the Word of God, it will help us to have good and correct thinking about God, others, and it will help our personal growth.
Good thoughts produce good behavior.

Psalm 39:3  My heart was hot within me, while I was musing the fire burned: then spake I with my tongue,
