Our Stand

Our Stand is Based on the Word of God

On Bible

1. The Bible is the inspired, infallible, inerrant Word of God, sufficient and authoritative in all matters of which it speaks.

In order to properly understand God’s Word, one must employ a normal, literal, historical-grammatical interpretation of the Scriptures, which, we believe, leads to a classical and Biblical hermeneutic. The Church Equips uses only the King James Version in its materials.

On Salvation

2. Salvation is by God’s grace and mercy, received by faith alone in the person (deity) and work (substitutionary death and subsequent resurrection) of Jesus Christ.

Anything added to saving faith constitutes “works salvation,” which is a false gospel.

We also believe in the eternal security of believers. We are saved, sealed, and secured until the day of redemption.

The Bible teaches that we cannot lose our salvation.

Ephesians 1:13-14

1:13In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
1:14Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

On Holy Spirit and His works

3. The Holy Spirit bestows spiritual gifts to all believers, but the “sign gifts” such as prophecy, tongues, healing, etc., instrumental in the early church, ceased with the completed canon of Scripture.

1 Corinthians 13

13:8Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
13:9For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
13:10But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

4. Doctrine is important and is not to be minimized or downplayed in order to forge a shallow, man-made unity. Purity of doctrine requires biblical separation from churches or ministries whose beliefs or philosophy of ministry stray from the clear teaching of Scripture.
