significance of the blood of Jesus Christ

10 Great Reasons for the Blood of Jesus Christ.

Christian Faith By May 20, 2024 No Comments

Introduction

There is no doubt about the significance of the blood of Jesus Christ. Even though so many people have attacked the blood of Christ, they have made it insignificant, but I can boldly say that the blood of Christ is more valuable in the lives of Christians and in the work of salvation.

John the Baptist made one of the greatest statements about the reason for the coming of Christ, and he declared it to the whole congregation who gathered around him. He said, “Behold the lamb of God, who takes the sin of the world.”

Biblical Verses on the Blood of Jesus Christ

Atonement for Sin:

The blood of Jesus Christ was shed for the atonement of our sins.

Hebrews 9:22: “And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.”

Redemption:

The blood of Christ redeems believers from sin.

Ephesians 1:7: “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace.”

Justification:

Believers are justified by His blood. Justification means that a believer is declared righteous and holy before God the Father.

Romans 5:9: “Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.”

Sanctification:

The blood sanctifies and sets believers apart for God.

Hebrews 13:12: “Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.”

The blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin.

1 John 1:7: “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”

Access to God:

The blood of Jesus provides believers with direct access to God. There is no need to go through a human mediator before you have access to God.

Hebrews 10:19–20: “Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh.”

Peace with God:

Through His blood, Jesus made peace between God and humanity.

Colossians 1:20: “And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.”

Victory over Satan:

The blood of Jesus gives believers victory over Satan.

Revelation 12:11: “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”

New Covenant:

The blood of Jesus established the New Covenant between God and humanity.

Luke 22:20: “Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.”

Eternal Inheritance:

The blood of Christ secures an eternal inheritance for believers.

Hebrews 9:14–15: “How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.”

Conclusion

The blood of Jesus Christ, through his vicarious sacrifice, made salvation possible for all of humanity. Therefore, whoever believes in the payment for sin is saved forever.
