Psalms 69:5-6O God, thou knowest my foolishness; and my sins are not hid from thee. Let not them that wait on thee, O Lord GOD of hosts, be ashamed for my sake: let not those that seek thee be confounded for my sake, O God of Israel.

Your sins have consequences. Even if you confess and are forgiven, you may still feel the shame of those sins. There are things I did in the past that I still feel the guilt of it till this day. Is it that I don’t believe God has forgiven me? NO!

But the truth is:

THE SIN EFFECT is somehow lurking around, the thought of those things, the shame, the regrets, they leave you helpless and weary. Ask the Lord to help with your shame. When we sin, we also hurt those around us. We need to be aware that sin often has a ripple effect – we may cause others disgrace. When Christians sin, nonbelievers question our faith, in fact, they blaspheme God! Not only that you as a child of God sinning, brings shame to others around you, but it also affects our fellowship with our heavenly Father. Do not let this happen to you. Walk in the light – we cannot hide our sin from the Lord.

Numbers 32:23Ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out.”

When David sinned in 2 Samuel 11, he was alone in that sin, but the consequences affected his whole lineage from that time forth. 2 Samuel 12:10-12. And also when David sinned by numbering the people, the punishment boomeranged! And it did affect the whole nation of Israel.

2 Samuel 24:10-17 KJV
And David’s heart smote him after that he had numbered the people. And David said unto the Lord, I have sinned greatly in that I have done: and now, I beseech thee, O Lord, take away the iniquity of thy servant; for I have done very foolishly. [11] For when David was up in the morning, the word of the Lord came unto the prophet Gad, David’s seer, saying, [12] Go and say unto David, Thus saith the Lord, I offer thee three things ; choose thee one of them, that I may do it unto thee. [13] So Gad came to David, and told him, and said unto him, Shall seven years of famine come unto thee in thy land? or wilt thou flee three months before thine enemies, while they pursue thee? or that there be three days’ pestilence in thy land? now advise, and see what answer I shall return to him that sent me. [14] And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let us fall now into the hand of the Lord ; for his mercies are great: and let me not fall into the hand of man. [15] So the Lord sent a pestilence upon Israel from the morning even to the time appointed: and there died of the people from Dan even to Beer-sheba seventy thousand men. [16] And when the angel stretched out his hand upon Jerusalem to destroy it, the Lord repented him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed the people, It is enough: stay now thine hand. And the angel of the Lord was by the threshingplace of Araunah the Jebusite. [17] And David spake unto the Lord when he saw the angel that smote the people, and said, Lo, I have sinned, and I have done wickedly: but these sheep, what have they done? let thine hand, I pray thee, be against me, and against my father’s house.

I’ve heard the story of a teen girl diagnosed with HIV, this child got this deadly virus from one of the parents. She knew not how this parent got the virus, but now, she’ll have to live the rest of her life in pain, sickness, and worries; all because of someone else’s SINWatch thou therefore!

THE SIN EFFECTS are always terrible! Before you go into the excitement and the temporal fun of sin, think twice and decline from its trail; because sin takes you farther than you think, and the consequences are always greater than the fun it gave! THERE IS A SIN EFFECT, RUN FROM SIN, THAT YOUR LIFE, ITS EFFECT DON’T AFFECT!
